Fear & courage
Shushu hears a strange noise and starts to tremble. Being scared is OK, and a friend's paw makes the first brave step easier.
Punkin, Hexie, Frankie and their friends help preschoolers understand big feelings in a gently spooky animated series.
In a cozy playroom lit by pumpkin lanterns, Punkin, Hexie, Frankie, Peeky and the rest of the gang get together to play. They may look like monsters, but inside they get scared, frustrated, left out and proud, just like the kids who watch them.

Frankie's joy, Echo's sadness, Hexie's shyness: clear, readable faces help children recognise emotions, first on the screen and then in themselves and their friends.

Recognising emotions in yourself and putting them into words.
Noticing how friends feel and responding with kindness.
Calming down after fear, anger or disappointment.
Talking it through, asking for help and taking a brave first step.
Small mysteries and funny mishaps bring up real emotions, and Shushu, Wrappy, Poof and their friends work through them together.

Shushu hears a strange noise and starts to tremble. Being scared is OK, and a friend's paw makes the first brave step easier.

Wrappy's bandages knot up mid-game. Getting angry is natural, and asking for help is a strength.

Poof wants to join in, but nobody notices. How does it feel, and how can we make room for everyone?
Emotional intelligence, the ability to recognise, understand and manage feelings, is one of the most important skills children build before school. With Punkin, Hexie and the gang, Monster Kitties gives them words and simple tools for it through stories they enjoy.
The gently spooky world is on purpose: small, funny "scary" moments let children explore fear and uncertainty safely, with friends by their side.
After an episode, ask: "How did the kitty feel?" and "What helped?"
